Who is Mariam Ahmed…

Mariam Ahmed is a Californian poet. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a minor in Sociology from the University of California, Davis, followed by an MFA in Poetry from San Diego State University.

Mariam’s book of poems, Moments of Astral Projection, was published by The Offending Adam in 2021. Her individual poems have appeared and are forthcoming poems in Ignatian Literary Magazine, Kitchen Table Quarterly, Panorama: The Journal of Travel, Place, and Nature, Maintenant: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Art and Writing by Three Rooms Press, Flint Hills Review, Folly Journal, and many other publications, both online & in print.

Mariam’s creative energy lights up the stage at poetry readings across California, including The Sacramento Poetry Center, Time Tested Books, 100 Poets for Change, and other venues in California. Her performances are a mesmerizing fusion of words, sound, and movement, transporting audiences to new dimensions of thought and emotion.

Current Status

Mariam’s roots stretch from the vibrant Bay Area to the serene landscapes of Folsom, California. Now, nestled in the dynamic city of San Diego, she persists in expanding the horizons of poetry and embracing creativity in its myriad expressions.
